Former junior welterweight titleholder Kendall Holt was back in the ring this week to spar with WBO titlist Ruslan Provodnikov, who will face Chris Algieri in an HBO main event on June 14 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Holt, who turns 33 tomorrow, got to have a few laughs about the assignment on his Twitter page:

Top Rank's Crystina Poncher posted a snapshot of the sparring session, too:

Holt (28-6, 16 KO) hasn't fought since a TKO-8 loss to Lamont Peterson in February 2013, and has fought just two times since 2011. Another recent sparring partner for Provodnikov was Viktor Postol, who we saw on HBO just a couple of weeks ago on May 17, winning a KO-11 over Selcuk Aydin in his debut on the network.
