Amir Khan could fight Manny Pacquiao on November 22

Amir Khan thinks he should be Manny Pacquiao's opponent on November 22 in Macau.

Manny Pacquiao has a date and a location for his next fight: November 22 at the Venetian in Macau, China. Amir Khan thinks he should be the opponent.

From the Manila Standard Today:

Khan said: "We have a good history together; we both were trained by Freddie Roach, we sparred together hundreds of times, we are friends. But boxing is a business and I want to fight him and beat him."

Khan's last attempt at landing a superfight failed spectacularly when Floyd Mayweather instead faced Marcos Maidana in May. Mayweather will likely rematch Maidana on September 13, though Khan wouldn't have accepted that fight even if it was offered due to the timing of Ramadan.

With Mayweather off the table until at least May of 2015, why not call out Manny? Khan says he'll be ready in time for Pacquiao's return later this year, and he adds it's a chance for Oscar de la Hoya and Bob Arum to make good on their recent talk of reconciliation.

"They want to work together and co-promote fights, why not an Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao fight?" asked Khan.

We'll see if Khan's latest plea will land him the fight he wants. It's certainly worth seeing if Arum and de la Hoya can actually come together and co-promote a major fight.

Chris Algieri, who recently decisioned Ruslan Provodnikov on HBO, has also been mentioned as a potential Pacquaio opponent for November 22.
