Weights: Canelo Alvarez 155, Erislandy Lara 155

Tomorrow night's Showtime pay-per-view main event is set, as Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara made weight tonight in Las Vegas.

SHOWTIME Sports

Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara are good to go for tomorrow night's junior middleweight plus one pound main event on Showtime pay-per-view, as both fighters weighed in at 155 pounds this evening in Las Vegas.

There was some disagreement over the way both men appeared in terms of conditioning. Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO) looked in very good shape overall, while some felt Canelo (42-1-1, 31 KO) looked a bit dried out, as if he had to greatly struggle to make the weight. But we've seen many times over how reliable the eye test for that sort of thing can be, and the real judgment comes tomorrow, not today.

In the main undercard bout for the show, Abner Mares (26-1-1, 14 KO) and Jonathan Oquendo (24-3, 16 KO) both weighed in at 126½ pounds. Also featured on tomorrow's pay-per-view: Juan Manuel Lopez (34-3, 31 KO) weighed in at 130 pounds, to 129 pounds for Francisco Vargas (19-0-1, 13 KO); and it was 140 each for Mauricio Herrera (20-4, 7 KO) and Johan Perez (19-1-1, 13 KO).

Also, a Showtime-televised fight (which will also stream live on BLH) between WBO bantamweight titlist Tomoki Kameda (29-0, 18 KO) and Pungluang Sor Singyu (46-2, 31 KO) is also set, with Kameda at 118 and Pungluang at 117.
