Floyd Mayweather took home his sixth ESPY award for 'Best Fighter' last night.

Another trophy for his mantle. Floyd Mayweather took the hardware for 'The Best Fighter' during last night's ESPY awards. In doing so, he beat out the likes of Manny Pacquiao, Jon "Bones" Jones, Andre Ward, and MMA bantamweight killer, Ronda Rousey.

Mayweather's September wipeout over Canelo Alvarez and May's majority decision win over Marcos Maidana were sufficient enough to secure him the nod. That had to be much to the chagrin of Ronda Rousey and Dana White, who've both gone on record innumerous times saying that she would mop the floor with Mayweather, were the two ever to get into a physical altercation. Floyd, though, only responded by saying that he doesn't even know who 'he' (Rousey) is. He then repeated it to ensure his slight didn't go unnoticed.

Comparing MMA fighters to boxers, and debating who would win between them, has become a tired argument. I suppose they're now taking this to the next level by fantasizing about match-up between a great female MMA fighter against the best boxer on the planet. But they are two completely different disciplines and shouldn't be be compared. A boxer would most certainly destroy a MMA fighter in a boxing match, and vice-versa. James Toney proved as much when he took an ill-advised fight with Randy Couture several years back.

Anyways, congratulations Floyd! I hope Ronda doesn't put you in an armbar to pry that trophy away from you.
