Tyson Fury withdraws from Ustinov fight

Tyson Fury is out of today's fight with Alexander Ustinov after his uncle has taken ill.

Tyson Fury's uncle Hughie Fury is "seriously ill" and has been admitted to hospital, which has led Fury to withdraw from today's fight in Manchester against short-notice opponent Alexander Ustinov. The bout was originally scheduled to be a rematch between Fury and Dereck Chisora, who pulled out of the fight with an injury earlier this week.

Fury (22-0, 16 KO) has said that he will not give Chisora the planned rematch, but promoter Frank Warren says that fight will be rescheduled and announced soon:

"I'm very, very, disappointed for the fans. After Dereck Chisora pulled out because of his hand injury, we worked very hard to secure a world ranked opponent in Ustinov. It's sad that his uncle Hughie is in a serious condition and our thoughts are with him. The show will still go ahead and as before it's a great card with Billy Joe Saunders, Liam Smith, Terry Flanagan and Jack Catterall and Nathan Brough all in title action. We will be announcing the rescheduled date for Chisora v Fury next week."

As Warren notes, this is certainly a hit to the card, but the show will go on and there will be plenty of notable domestic fighters in action. Notably, press rivals Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr will have separate bouts.
