This past Saturday, 45-year old Roy Jones, Jr. (58-8, 41 KOs) traveled to Latvia to defend his World Boxing Union (Germany Version) cruiserweight belt against Courtney Fry (18-6, 6 KOs). Jones emerged victorious, scoring a 5th round TKO victory over Fry. After the fight, lest we all forget, Jones reminded us that in addition to boxing, there's another thing that he probably shouldn't be doing anymore:
In defeating Fry, Jones beat a 39-year old fighter who's now lost three fights in a row. After getting dropped by a left hook in the fifth round, Fry decided he'd had enough and called it quits.
This was Jones' first defense of the World Boxing Union (Germany Version) cruiserweight belt and his fourth victory in a row, after losing three straight fights between 2009-2011. Jones hadn't scored a stoppage victory since 2009 when he forced Jeff Lacy's corner to throw in the towel after the tenth round.
