Brandon Rios and Diego Chaves both made weight for their welterweight battle scheduled for tomorrow night on HBO, and co-feature fighters Jessie Vargas and Anton Novikov are also good to go for the televised portion of the show from the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.
Rios (31-2-1, 23 KO) weighed in at 147 pounds, with Chaves (23-1, 19 KO) at 148 for their fight. The Argentine Chaves was stuck at home trying desperately to get a visa for a few more days than he would have liked, so we'll have to see if he's in prime condition tomorrow, but both guys looked good on the scales for what could be a real war of a fight.
Vargas (24-0-, 9 KO) will defend his WBA junior welterweight title for the first time against Novikov (29-0, 10 KO) on the card, too. Vargas weighed in at 139.8 pounds, with Novikov at 139.4, both just under the 140-pound limit.
