Shawn Porter and Kell Brook both made weight today for tomorrow night's Showtime Championship Boxing main event, with both coming in just under the 147-pound division limit for their IBF title fight.
Porter (24-0-1, 15 KO) weighed in at 146¾, with Brook (32-0, 22 KO) just under that at 146½.
In a super middleweight title rematch, Sakio Bika (32-5-3, 21 KO) and Anthony Dirrell (26-0-1, 22 KO) will meet for a second time, once again for Bika's WBC belt. The two fought to a draw last December in Brooklyn. Bika weighed in at 167¾, with Dirrell at the division limit of 168.
Omar Figueroa (23-0-1, 17 KO) will defend his WBC lightweight title against Daniel Estrada (32-2-1, 24 KO) in the opener of the Showtime triple-header. Figueroa met the 135-pound limit, with Estrada at 134½.
"Let's hope not. I've prepared very differently for this fight, and I think I'm in way better shape. I hope my body responds Saturday, and we'll prove that. I can't tell right now (about the hand). It's not until I start hitting him that I'll see how my hands fare. But so far, it's good. I'm definitely moving up to 140. Expect an even better Omar at 140."
