Danny Garcia and Rod Salka both made the catchweight of 142 pounds for tomorrow night's Showtime Championship Boxing main event from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with Garcia weighing in at 141¾ pounds, and Salka at 141 even.
Garcia (28-0, 16 KO) is not defending his RING, WBC, or WBA junior welterweight titles, after the WBC and WBA declined to sanction this as a title fight, feeling (with more eyes on the fight) that Salka (19-3, 3 KO) didn't qualify as a contender at 140 pounds, which is true. The fact that fighters like Salka get lots of world title shots from both sanctioning bodies pretty frequently is another story, but whatever.
In the main co-feature, Lamont Peterson (32-2-1, 16 KO) will be defending his IBF junior welterweight title against Edgar Santana (29-4, 20 KO). Peterson weighed in at 140, with Santana at 139½.
Daniel Jacobs (27-1, 24 KO) weighed in at 159½, with Jarrod Fletcher (18-1, 10 KO) weighing in at 159¼. They will meet for a pretend version of Gennady Golovkin's WBA middleweight title in the night's opening main card bout.
