This evening at 6:00 pm EDT, we'll have a live stream of the Mayweather vs Maidana 2 weigh-in event from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, ahead of tomorrow night's Showtime pay-per-view event, which will feature four live fights, plus one more on Showtime.
Mayweather (46-0, 26 KO) and Maidana (35-4, 31 KO) first met in May, of course, with Mayweather taking a competitive majority decision victory. There was just enough talk and controversy (or something like it) for them to do it again. This time, though the limit is the standard welterweight cap of 147 pounds, Floyd will be defending not only his WBC and WBA welterweight titles, but also the WBC junior middleweight title, as the sanctioning body gave him permission to put both on the line. (His WBA junior middleweight belt is not up for grabs.)
On the undercard, Leo Santa Cruz will defend the WBC super bantamweight title against Manuel Roman (122 lbs); Miguel Vazquez defends the IBF lightweight title against Mickey Bey (135 lbs); Alfredo Angulo and James de la Rosa meet at a 162-pound catchweight, just north of the middleweight limit; and on Showtime, John Molina faces Humberto Soto in a junior welterweight fight (140 lbs).
