Justin Bieber to lend credibility to Mayweather-Maidana 2 by singing national anthem

Justin Bieber won't just accompany Floyd Mayweather to the ring tonight. He's part of the show! #themoneyteam

Canadian pop music superstar Justin Bieber will sing the national anthem of the United States of America tonight at the rematch between his buddy Floyd Mayweather and Marcos Maidana.

Mayweather, a 37-year-old man who hangs out with dudes who just stopped being teenagers, has had Bieber as part of his entrance entourage in recent fights, including the May bout with Maidana, which Mayweather won via majority decision.

This is obviously a huge boost for the fight's mainstream relevance, and surely will convince many a 15-year-old Belieber's parents to spend $75 on a sporting event their child has no interest in seeing, just so they can scream while Bieber performs the national anthem.

It will be a true test of American patriotism and resolve to see if the audience of around 14,000 or so in Las Vegas will be able to restrain themselves from booing a celebrity whose fan base will not be in attendance, and who so routinely grinds their gears with his boorish behavior.

Mostly, we're just hoping he doesn't strip to his underpants to combat boos, if there are any.

By the way, here is what came up when I searched to see if this was a real thing and not something someone made up:
