Vasyl Lomachenko will return to action on November 22 in Macau, as part of the Pacquiao-Algieri HBO pay-per-view undercard, making the first defense of his WBO featherweight title. Lomachenko has an opponent now, as Top Rank announced he'll be facing Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo.
Lomachenko (2-1, 1 KO) pretty handily defeated Gary Russell Jr on June 21 to win the vacant belt, after losing in an attempt to unseat Orlando Salido in his second pro fight on March 1. The 26-year-old Ukrainian has all the talent that was expected coming out of his amazing amateur career, but there's still plenty to prove in the pro game.
Chonlatarn (52-1, 33 KO) is a 29-year-old from Thailand with a super fluffed up record, a fringe contender in all reality, but one that might bring in some interest in the Asian market. He's had one fight against a true top featherweight, and was totally outclassed by Chris John in 2012.
