Kell Brook stabbed in Tenerife

Newly Crowned IBF Welterweight Champion, Kell Brook, has just been stabbed while on vacation in Tenerife.

Its been about a week since we've mentioned Kell Brook and he's apparently desperate to get his name back in the headlines, even if he has to take a knife in the leg to do it. I kid, I kid!

Reports are now surfacing that Kell Brook has just been stabbed while vacationing with his family in Tenerife. He apparently was stabbed in the leg and had his arm cut in the attack. The injuries he's suffered are said to be non-life-threatening and he's currently in stable condition at the hospital. This could have some implications on finalizing an Amir Khan fight which has been in the making, and could also force a postponement of his first title defense in December. But for now we'll just have to wait and see.

Reporting for Sky Sports News HQ, Fraser Dainton said: "As I'm sure you can imagine, this must have been extremely distressing and upsetting for everybody involved.

"He was looking forward to a nice, quiet, relaxing time over in Tenerife with his family, but obviously this has put a shadow on things at the moment.

"The details are fairly sketchy, but the good news is that it looks like the injuries, from what we're told, are not too serious."

This also isn't the first time Brook has been stabbed. He was knifed in his sides and buttocks back in 2007 after a party in Sheffield. I'm sure we're all wondering, however, what might have provoked such an attack during a vacation on the small Spanish island. More details will surely emerge in due course, but in the meantime we all wish Brook a speedy recovery.
