Chris Algieri serves as Grand Marshal in Huntington parade

Chris Algieri is enjoying the perks of stardom, serving as a Grand Marshal in a parade in his hometown.

Chris Algieri was one of the Grand Marshals in a parade in his hometown of Huntington, New York, this past week, concluding his end of a major press tour to promote his November 22 HBO pay-per-view fight against Manny Pacquiao.

Algieri (20-0, 8 KO) is the reigning WBO junior middleweight titleholder, and will be moving up to 147 pounds to face the sanctioning body's welterweight champ. It's obviously and easily the biggest fight and biggest payday of his career, coming off of two good wins this year over Emmanuel Taylor and Ruslan Provodnikov, the latter arguably the biggest upset of 2014 on premium cable in the United States.

Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO) beat Timothy Bradley in a rematch on April 12 to regain his WBO 147-pound title, which was controversially lost to Bradley in 2012.

The press tour for Pacquiao-Algieri included stops in Macau, where the fight will be held; Shanghai, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York.
