Paul Butler has a new date for his previously canceled clash with IBF super flyweight titlist Zolani Tete, as the fight has been set for March 6 at Liverpool's Echo Arena.
Butler (17-0, 8 KO) beat Stuart Hall for the IBF bantamweight title in June of this year, but vacated in order to move back down to a more comfortable 115 pounds, with the promise of a shot against Tete (19-3, 16 KO). The fight was originally scheduled for October 25, but Tete had to pull out due to a broken hand suffered in training camp.
Butler, 26, is a former British and Commonwealth champion at super flyweight. South Africa's Tete, also 26, won a title eliminator in November 2013 against Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr, then beat Teiru Kinoshita in July of this year for the vacant IBF title. He's also a former flyweight world title challenger, losing to Moruti Mthalane back in 2010.
