Kell Brook will make his first title defense on March 28th, in Sheffield, England. Of course, most of us know that his previously scheduled December title defense had to be postponed after a stabbing attack that occurred while Brook was on vacation in Tenerife. As for potential opponents, an official opponent will be named next week, but the thoughts are it could be either Ionut Dan Ion or Paulie Malignaggi.

"Last year was one of incredible highs and lows and the bravery he has shown to come back from that life threatening injury has been quite remarkable," said Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn.

"People doubted Kell before he ripped the world title from Porter in America. The fact is that Kell is a special fighter and I believe he will go on to unify the 147lbs division, it will be an emotional night for Kell and another big statement will be made."

Paulie Malignaggi has already decided that he will continue his boxing career, and while he says that he wouldn't turn down a fight with Kell Brook, he has also just came out to say that he wouldn't want that to be his first fight back. If that is indeed the case, a Brook-Malignaggi fight may never materialize as Brook has been eying a summer showdown with Amir Khan. As it's looking like the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight might finally come to fruition, Amir Khan and Kell Brook seems like the logical inevitability.
