Stiverne vs Wilder: Live streaming results and round by round coverage (January 17, 2015)

Deontay Wilder looks to back up his talk and his hype as he takes on Bermane Stiverne tonight on Showtime.

Tonight on Showtime, big time boxing is back for the first time in 2015, as Bermane Stiverne defends the WBC heavyweight title against unbeaten knockout artist Deontay Wilder in what should be the fight that finally tells us whether or not Wilder has the goods, or is all smoke and mirrors.

Stiverne (24-1-1, 21 KO) defeated Chris Arreola for the vacant title last May, stopping him in the sixth round. The belt had previously been held by Vitali Klitschko. Wilder (32-0, 32 KO) has run over everyone in his path since turning pro in late 2008, but his path has been littered with tomato cans, too, and this is a big step up for him.

On the undercard, Leo Santa Cruz (28-0-1, 16 KO) defends the WBC super bantamweight title against fringe contender Jesus Ruiz (33-5-5, 22 KO), and junior welterweight prospects Amir Imam (15-0, 13 KO) and Fidel Maldonado Jr (19-2, 16 KO) do battle in the opening bout of the tripleheader.

The fights on Showtime start at 10:00 pm EST, and there will be prelim bouts airing on Showtime Extreme, starting at 8:00 pm EST. Light heavyweight Vyacheslav Shabranskyy (11-0, 9 KO) will take on tough veteran Garrett Wilson (13-8-1, 7 KO), and heavyweight Eric Molina (22-2, 16 KO) will face Raphael Zumbano Love (35-8-1, 28 KO).
