Light heavyweight prospect Slava Shabranskyy improved to 12-0 (10 KO) with a dominant win over veteran Garrett Wilson tonight on Showtime Extreme, stopping Wilson after the end of round nine, when referee Jay Nady stopped it on the doctor's advice.
Shabranskyy dropped Wilson (13-9-1, 7 KO) in the second and eighth rounds, and never faced any serious resistance. Wilson, a former cruiserweight who was very small for that division, was still small at 175, and Shabranskyy was able to dictate the range and tempo all night long, making the fight stylistically easy for him.
Heavyweight Eric Molina easily disposed of Raphael Zumbano, outworking the Brazilian and beating him up en route to an eighth round stoppage. Molina (23-2, 17 KO) got the stoppage on a clean right uppercut and a looping left hook, followed by a clean right hand, with referee Russell Mora stepping in to stop the one-sided affair. Zumbano (35-9-1, 28 KO) took the fight on four days notice, and looked like it.
