Jermain Taylor is in trouble with the law again, as the reigning IBF middleweight champion was arrested and charged with five counts of aggravated assault, three counts of endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of marijuana, after he discharged a firearm in Little Rock, Arkansas, on Monday.
Witness Shirley Johnson of Little Rock was at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wright Avenue when she said she heard about five gunshots in the distance.
Police stopped Taylor at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wright Avenue, according to Allen, and Johnson said she "saw everything."
Johnson said police removed a gun from the boxer's vehicle, and Taylor then stepped out of the vehicle, where he was handcuffed.
Johnson said she saw a woman and two children in the back seat of the vehicle, and said she heard the children crying for Taylor.
"Then Jermain [Taylor] looked over at us and said 'They got me again,'" Johnson said.
Taylor, 36, was also arrested last August and charged with a shooting that injured his cousin, to which he pleaded innocent in December. Police also received a Christmas Eve call that Taylor had thrown a brick through a car window, but Taylor said he was acting in self-defense and was not arrested.
Michael Woods also said on Twitter today that Taylor has a fractured rib. Taylor (33-4-1, 20 KO) was set to fight Sergio Mora on the February 6 edition of ESPN Friday Night Fights, but that fight is canceled.

Taylor has staged a decent career comeback, but we're now at a point where it's worth wondering if it really goes on any further, not because he can't still fight, but because this many outside the ring issues are going to eventually catch up, and at this rate, probably sooner than later.
As for the broken rib, here's Taylor earlier today before the arrest:
