Mike Alvarado takes on Brandon Rios in the weekend's biggest fight.

Tuesday, January 20

FOX Sports 1, 8:00 pm EST, Eric Hunter vs Rene Alvarado, Michael Perez vs MIguel Acosta. Bernard Hopkins' 50th birthday will be celebrated on this Philly card, which features a pair of decent if totally unspectacular matchups. Neither is a mismatch -- well, I haven't seen Acosta in a while, I have no idea how much he's slipped -- so at least there's that. BLH will have live coverage.

HBO, 9:45 pm EST, Mike Alvarado vs Brandon Rios III, Gilberto Ramirez vs Maxim Vlasov. The third meeting between Mike Alvarado and Brandon Rios isn't nearly as highly-anticipated as the first fight from 2012 or the 2013 rematch, but it should be a good action fight, and the two guys are now sort of attached to one another forever -- maybe not on a Gatti-Ward / Vazquez-Marquez / Barrera-Morales / Pacquiao-Marquez sort of level, but still pretty significant for the boxing landscape of the last few years. There's a vacant WBO minor trinket on the line for the fight, too. The co-feature has top super middleweight prospect Gilberto Ramirez up against Maxim Vlasov, a very competent, sound boxer whose only loss was in 2011 against Isaac Chilemba. BLH will have live coverage.

Sunday, January 25

TyC Sports (ARG), 10:00 pm EST, Matias Carlos Adrian Rueda vs Guillermo Osvaldo Soloppi, Cristian Javier Medina vs Nelson Dario Dominguez.
