We knew the date, and now we know the name. Kell Brook has his opponent set for his first title defense, coming back from his stabbing attack late last year. He'll face off with Jo Jo Dan (34-2, 18 KOs) at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, England. This is a mandatory defense bout for Brook's IBF title.

"I feel so emotional right now. I laid in the hospital thinking I might not walk again - now I am defending my belt at home," Brook (33-0, 22 KOs) was quoted via the Twitter account of his promoter, Matchroom Sport.

"I am not looking past him; I was a mandatory too like he is. But I am going to work even harder to keep the belt that I earned. I am looking to get my mandatory out the way and get the big fights. He has worked hard to get his shot and he'll give it his all."

Dan is riding a five fight win streak, with his sole two losses coming at the hands of Selcuk Aydin. He earned his mandatory shot by defeating Kevin Bizier via split decision last month. It's not exactly awe-inspiring, but this is a pretty good fight for both guys. Ultimately, though, I think that Brook is just plain better than Dan and should be favored to win this fight. But it's not exactly an easy fight for a guy who nearly lost his leg (and quite possibly his life) just a few shorts months ago.

"I am going there to get the belt," Dan tells RING. "I will be in the best shape. [Brook] is a well-deserved champion but his reign stops March 28."
