Juan Manuel Márquez looking at Brook, Pacquiao, Ríos, Bradley

Juan Manuel Márquez will want a big fight when he's ready to return this year, and a title shot against Kell Brook might be what he wants the most.

Juan Manuel Márquez still wants a welterweight title, and though the Mexican star is still sidelined with a knee injury, he's looking at some big names, some possible rematches, and perhaps most importantly, a fight with IBF welterweight titleholder Kell Brook.

Márquez, 41, hasn't fought since May of last year, when he beat Mike Alvarado in Los Angeles. There have been no major rumors or discussions about his next fight, but he's an attractive opponent for just about anyone, as he's a big name notch on the belt potentially, and also has a dedicated following.

Brook (33-0, 22 KO) will be facing Jo Jo Dan on March 28 in Sheffield, making the first defense of the title he won last August against Shawn Porter. Brook was stabbed on vacation after that, and missed a scheduled December defense.

Márquez (56-7-1, 40 KO) would also consider a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao or a rematch with Tim Bradley, according to promoter Fernando Beltran, who also named Brandon Ríos as a possible foe.

"Bob (Arum) has a good relationship with Eddie Hearn, so Bob would be the negotiator. But there are many fights out there. Brandon Rios looked pretty good last Saturday, so Brandon Rios is one of the fights that is out there," said Beltran. "Manny Pacquiao is out there if he doesn't fight Floyd Mayweather. The rematch with Bradley is another possibility. There is Kell Brook. There are many possibilities."
