Oscar is looking to put together a Danny Garcia - Lamont Peterson fight very soon.

RingTV is reporting that Oscar De La Hoya, the newly crowned 'Promoter of the  Year," wants to kick of 2015 by delivering a Garcia - Peterson fight. In fact, should things pan out the way he'd like, he'll deliver the fight during the first quarter of this year. Of course, he still needs to get Al Haymon on board with these plans to make it into a reality. Well more realistically, Oscar needs to get Haymon on board for several big fights he's been working on, all of which include Haymon-advised fighters.

"I'm working on some exciting fights, and that includes Mares, Thurman, Lucas, Broner, Guerrero," said De La Hoya. "I am looking forward to promoting the next American heavyweight hope, Deontay Wilder."

Specifically as far as a potential Garcia-Peterson fight is concerned, it's a decent enough fight - and clearly a step in a much more competitive direction for both fighters. No word yet on Oscar's designs for these other fellows but I'm sure they'll be soon to come. Oscar also mentioned some hopes to be able to pull together a Santa Cruz - Mares bout, but at this point that seems to mostly be just an idea in his head. And being that both these guys are Haymon fighters, Oscar may need to doubly convince Al in order to make that one happen.
