TERRY FLANAGAN vs DIEGO MAGDALENO

Round 1: Flanagan definitely sharper in the first round, just looks the more comfortable in the ring. Magdaleno lands a couple shots, but Flanagan easily takes the opening round at home. Magdaleno a little off in the opener. Flanagan 10-9

Round 2: Magdaleno slipping constantly, which seems it would be his shoes since the surface has been fine for everyone else, and Flanagan is having no trouble. Magdaleno gets wild, clipped with a hook, and Diego is down. Magdaleno down AGAIN. He looks horrible, and Flanagan is REALLY sharp. Magdaleno down a THIRD time. Hard uppercut from Flanagan, Magdaleno barely hangs on there. Magdaleno's legs are all over the place and he's trying to fight his way out of this, but getting tagged. Flanagan continues pummeling Magdaleno and referee finally steps in. Terry Flanagan TKO-2

LIAM SMITH vs JOHN THOMPSON

Round 1: Smith working patiently behind his long jab, utilizing his long reach and height advantages. Smith just sort of trying to figure him out this round, and not working a lot. When he does throw, he's getting cut off. Easy round for Thompson, picking and pecking away to a clear 10-9. Thompson 10-9

Round 2: Smith lands a nice counter right about 40 seconds into this round, but Thompson is still working that jab. Smith looks to the body with a left hook, then a jab. He's definitely looking more offensive minded in the second round. Thompson back to the jab, moving nicely, and controlling the tempo again. Thompson 10-9, 20-18

Round 3: Thompson continues to maintain the distance he wants, and moves well when Smith does wade forward. There's an overhand right from Smith, Thompson moving again. Thompson showing some serious defensive lapses in this round which could be major trouble going forward. A closer round, debatable either way. Smith 10-9, Thompson 29-28

Round 4: Thompson sharper again to start this round, has a nice first minute with some good shots getting through. Smith picks it up toward the end of the second minute, landing a couple of rights. Smith finding some success by bullying Thompson and muscling him. Smith picked up nicely in the last minute, but I edge this round to Thompson. Thompson 10-9, 39-37

Round 5: Thompson with the advantage again in the first two minutes, active and peppering Smith with pit-a-pat punches. Smith not bothered, but I mean, he's not winning those minutes, either. Thompson takes another round. Thompson 10-9, 49-46

Round 6: Thompson stays active again, but Smith starting to pick up the tempo and walk in behind his jab. His team has clearly told him to get moving, and he's responding. Smith targeting the body and really hunting as the crowd comes alive. Thompson getting hurt a little bit to close the round. Liam's best round by far. Smith 10-9, Thompson 58-56

Round 7: Smith shoves Thompson to the canvas at the start of this round, referee warns him. Thompson in some trouble as the first minute ends, getting tagged with solid shots. Smith smiling as he works his way into range and hammers away. Right hand and THOMPSON IS DOWN, FACE-FIRST! It's over! Liam Smith TKO-7
