David Lemieux on Golovkin fight: Somebody's getting knocked out for sure

David Lemieux speaks with the press about his fight with Gennady Golovkin, and how he'll pull the Upset of the Year.

On the fight's KO potential

"Somebody's getting knocked out for sure, and I'm not planning it to be me. I've been having a tremendous training camp. I'm in great shape. There's no excuse for this fight. I'm going all out, and I'm leaving Madison Square with them belts."

On going 12 rounds if he has to

"I'm going to be a whole different fighter than I was against N'Dam. I'm going to be at my best, I might be the best I've ever been when I go out there. (Golovkin's) going to be the one who's surprised."

On why he chose to fight GGG now

"Because I think I can beat him. I said, 'Yeah, sure.' He's the toughest guy. The money's not my interest in boxing. It's the respect and the legacy I want to create, and the history I want to make. This is why I have to do things differently than other fights. Beating Golovkin is going to get me where I want to be."

On Golovkin's defensive lapses

"I don't care. I'm going in with the best Golovkin there is, and the best me there is. I have confidence in my abilities."

On Abel Sanchez's comments

"I don't pay attention to what he says. First of all, I'm not fighting Abel Sanchez. I'm fighting Golovkin. He can say what he wants to to boost up his fighter, you know, but to me it makes no difference. Some trainers, they get overexcited and they want to start talking for their fighters. October 17, it's me against Golovkin. His trainer's gonna swallow his words."
