Jermall Charlo presently owns the world title in question, having thrashed K-9 Bundrage for it last month .
Trout (30-2, 17 KO) has been on something of a rehab tour since consecutive losses to Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara in 2013, picking up four straight wins (and three straight knockouts) against marginal competition. He made his PBC debut in early September against late replacement Joey Hernandez, whom he stopped in six with body shots.
Soro (27-1-1, 17 KO) is 9-0-1 since a 2012 decision loss to Zaurbek Baysangurov. He managed to stop Glen Tapia in May and was slated to face Liam Smith before pulling out due to promoter issues.
This is a very solid fight, one which should tell us whether Trout is still elite among the 154-pound division. What do you all think?
