Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux made weight today for tomorrow night's HBO pay-per-view main event, with the two middleweight titleholders both under the 160-pound limit, but Lemieux having to strip down to his birthday suit in order to get there.
Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO), holder of the IBF belt, weighed 159.8 in the nude, while Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO) came in just under that at 159.4. The fight is on, and both guys looked in top shape.
Co-feature fighters Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KO) and Brian "Hawaiian Punch" Viloria (36-4, 22 KO) both weighed in at 111.4 pounds, 0.6 pounds below the limit for their flyweight world championship bout.
In an IBF middleweight eliminator, with the victor likely to fight the main event winner in early 2016, heavy favorite Tureano Johnson (18-1, 13 KO) weighed in at 159.4 pounds, with Eamonn O'Kane (14-1-1, 5 KO) at the limit of 160 pounds.
Heavyweights Luis Ortiz (22-0, 19 KO) and Matias Ariel Vidondo (20-1-1, 18 KO) came in at 237.8 and 261 pounds, respectively. They'll fight for the vacant WBA interim title, despite the fact that the WBA has a "super world" champion in Wladimir Klitschko and a "world" champion in Ruslan Chagaev.
