Tonight at 9 pm EST on HBO pay-per-view, Gennady Golovkin returns to face fellow slugger David Lemieux in the middleweight main event, with Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez defending the flyweight championship against Brian Viloria in the co-feature bout of a four-fight televised card. BLH will be here with live round by round updates for each fight.
Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO) and Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO) are not expected to go the distance in this fight. Golovkin has stopped his last 20 opponents, while Lemieux has stopped seven of his last nine, and in his last bout, which went 12 rounds, he dropped Hassan N'Dam four times.
Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KO) and Viloria (36-4, 22 KO) are a mirror of the main event in some ways, a top fighter taking on a legitimate contender with a good punch. Viloria probably hits a little harder than his KO ratio suggests, but Gonzalez has been a machine over his career.
The other two bouts on the show will see heavyweights Luis Ortiz (22-0, 19 KO) and Matias Ariel Vidondo (20-1-1, 18 KO) do battle, plus an IBF middleweight eliminator between Tureano Johnson (18-1, 13 KO) and Eamonn O'Kane (14-1-1, 5 KO).
