Terence "Bud" Crawford and Dierry Jean are good to go for tomorrow night's HBO World Championship Boxing main event from the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, as both fighters made weight this afternoon for the WBO junior welterweight title bout, with Crawford making his first defense.
Crawford and Jean both weighed in at the division limit of 140 pounds even, both looking in great shape. The main event will air live on HBO following replays of last weekend's HBO pay-per-view fights, Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux and Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez vs Brian Viloria.
"My abilities and my power is gonna make a difference," Jean (29-1, 20 KO) said of his chances at the upset in Omaha. "I'm gonna bring a big surprise. You will see."
"I'm focused for any fight. He opened his mouth, called me out, he wanted to fight, and now we're here," Crawford (26-0, 18 KO) told Crystina Poncher. "I'm gonna put on a spectacular show like I did the last two times I've been here."
On the non-televised undercard, Mikael Zewski (26-1, 20 KO) came in over the contractual limit, weighing in at 149.6 pounds on his first attempt. He went nekkid and came in a second time at 149.2. Ayi Bruce (23-11, 15 KO) weighed in at 148.4, with a limit of 149 for the bout.
Heavyweight Andy Ruiz Jr (25-0, 17 KO) weighed in at 248.8 pounds for his fight with Raphael Zumbano Love (37-11-1, 30 KO), who came in at 247.8. Former featherweight titleholder Evgeny Gradovich (19-1-1, 9 KO) will also be in action, taking on Aldimar Silva (19-8, 12 KO) in an eight-round fight. Gradovich weighed in at 127.8, with Silva at 127.
Here's the stare down between Crawford and Jean, for those who like looking at people looking at each other:
