The good news is that Thurman-Porter is still expected to happen - the bad news is that it doesn't appear it'll be happening on Dec. 12th as previously scheduled. Reports are now surfacing that the fight will be moved into 2016, with it quite possibly landing on Fox, the latest network Al Haymon has secured for his PBC series.
The rumor mill suggests that this high profile fight within the welterweight division has been pushed off to give more time for it to be properly promoted, and then showcased on a mainstream network like Fox. Currently, the first PBC card to air on Fox is scheduled for January 23rd.
While some remain optimistic, I'm always wary of these kind of postponements because so many things can happen in the sport of boxing, both inside and outside of the ring. A fight between Thurman and Porter is a good fight right now that'll clarify some of the future landscape of the division, and is probably a fight that Al Haymon wants to get just right to boost his PBC series. Hopefully it comes together sooner than later.
