We are now just 12 days away from the HBO pay-per-view fight between middleweight titleholders Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux, a pair of heavy-handed sluggers who will be fighting for the knockout at Madison Square Garden. HBO's Road to Golovkin-Lemieux feature takes you inside the fight and gives you a great look at both combatants as they gear up for this big opportunity.
Lemieux (34-2, 31 KO) is a pretty serious underdog here, and for good reason. Not only has the 26-year-old Canadian banger tasted defeat twice already, but Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO) has been so overwhelmingly dominant in recent outings that it's hard to imagine anyone being less than a sizable 'dog against GGG.
Golovkin, 33, is hoping to become one of boxing's newest big stars, and has delivered some very strong HBO ratings thanks to his fan friendly style, natural charm, and knockout power. There is danger in this fight, though, and Lemieux is a top five middleweight right now, too. There's not really a better fight that his team could have made right now, and that deserves some respect.
Are you going to buy the show on pay-per-view, or be a filthy criminal and try to steal it? Or are you somehow not interested in GGG? If so, what's wrong with you? Who hurt you?
