The rumors around a potential welterweight title fight between Keith "One Time" Thurman and "Showtime" Shawn Porter are intensifying today, as Michael Woods of The Sweet Science reports that the fight is likely for December 12. No venue or TV network for the fight is named.

Thurman (26-0, 22 KO) would be defending the WBA welterweight title, having won the interim version in 2013 against Diego Chaves. He defended the interim belt successfully against Julio Diaz and Leonard Bundu in 2014, and was bumped up to "world" titleholder status -- below Floyd Mayweather's "super" title with the WBA -- this year for defenses against Robert Guerrero and Luis Collazo.

Porter (26-1-1, 16 KO) is a former IBF titleholder who lost his belt in August 2014 to Kell Brook, and has bounced back this year with victories against Erick Bone and Adrien Broner, the latter of which really put Porter back in the mix for a big welterweight bout.

With Thurman and Porter both needing a fight and not being the type to back away from a challenge, this fight makes all the sense in the world, and has some potential slugfest qualities, too, as both guys can punch, Porter isn't afraid to fight rough (or a little dirty), and Thurman loves a chance to showcase his power.

If this fight happens, who do you like? Will Thurman stay unbeaten, or does Porter pull off another big win?
