This Saturday at Manchester Arena in England, Frank Warren and BoxNation present a pair of WBO world title fights, featuring hometown favorite Terry Flanagan defending his lightweight belt against Diego Magdaleno, and Liverpool's Liam Smith taking on John Thompson in the co-feature for the vacant WBO junior middleweight belt.
On Wednesday, the fighters all met up for their final press conference, and BoxNation cameras were there to capture the face offs at the end.
Flanagan (28-0, 11 KO) and Magdaleno (28-1, 12 KO) were civil -- silent, actually, who knows if they had tensions or unspoken aggression getting checked internally. Not me, I don't know. But they just looked at each other pretty normal style.
Smith (20-0-1, 10 KO) talked a little bit, though, making his face off with Thompson (17-1, 6 KO) a little more colorful, drawing a short but notable reaction from the Newark, New Jersey-based visitor.
Chris Eubank will not be pleased with this vulgarity.
Both fights appear pretty evenly matched on paper, and remember that BLH will have live coverage on Saturday afternoon. The card also has a few other interesting matchups (Luke Blackledge-Lee Markham, Thomas Stalker-Craig Evans, Jack Catterall-Jarkko Putkonen), as well as the pro debut of Indian Olympian Vijender Singh.
