PBC on Spike - Rodriguez vs Seals: Live streaming results and round by round coverage

Edwin Rodriguez faces Michael Seals in the main event of tonight's PBC on Spike card at 9 pm EST.

Light heavyweight contender Edwin "La Bomba" Rodriguez looks to stretch his win streak to four fights tonight as he faces Michael Seals in the PBC on Spike main event. Live coverage begins at 9 pm EST.

Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KO) lost to Andre Ward in November 2013 via one-sided decision, and has bounced back from that with three straight wins, though against limited opposition. Whether or not Seals (19-0, 14 KO) is himself anything more than that will be a story told in the ring tonight. The 33-year-old Seals, an Atlanta native, has never gone past six rounds, and has never faced even decent opposition. On paper, this would appear to be easy pickings for Rodriguez, 30, who was last seen on May 23, thrashing similarly unbeaten Craig Baker in three rounds.

Another light heavyweight will be the focal point of the co-feature, as Thomas Williams Jr (18-1, 12 KO) looks to grab a second straight win after his August 2014 setback against Gabriel Campillo. Williams, 28, was seen as a top prospect in the division before that fight, where he was stopped after five rounds. He beat veteran Michael Gbenga in December 2014, and this will be his first fight of 2015. Williams is facing Umberto Savigne (12-2, 9 KO), a 36-year-old Cuban fighter who is perhaps most famous for Jeff Lacy claiming that he switched places with someone else between their weigh-in and fight in July 2014. Savigne was last seen on February 20, getting stopped by the aforementioned Craig Baker in two rounds.

ROUND BY ROUND

EDWIN RODRIGUEZ vs MICHAEL SEALS

Round 1: Well, let's see if Seals can fight. Rodriguez comes out firing bombs like he's got no fear of this guy. And he's got Seals in the corner and down goes Seals in 30 seconds. DOWN GOES EDWIN RODRIGUEZ!!!! Seals standing his ground and that was a harder knockdown than Edwin's. Edwin back to throwing power shots, but Seals pokes in a body shot. The pace slows, and DOWN GOES RODRIGUEZ AGAIN LATE IN THE ROUND! HE'S ON BAD LEGS! He's going to make it out of the round only because the bell sounds. Seals 10-8

Round 2: Both guys looking for big shots all round. 30 seconds left in the round, and down goes Michael Seals! Rodriguez looking to close it out. Rodriguez throwing big shots with Seals in the corner, and the round ends! Rodriguez 10-8, 18-18

Round 3: Seals clipped with a big right and he's DOWN AGAIN! Flailing about trying to get up, but he can't, referee stops it (rightly so)! Rodriguez TKO-3

BRYANT PERRELLA vs CHAQUIB FADLI

Round 1: Fadli, from France, is reportedly fighting with no knowledge of what's going on in his home country. Perrella ends this pretty fast, putting Fadli down once (ropes holding him up, ruled a knockdown) on body shots, and then finishng up shortly after.

THOMAS WILLIAMS JR vs UMBERTO SAVIGNE

Round 1: Savigne goes down in about a minute. Cautious after that. DOWN GOES THOMAS WILLIAMS JR A MINUTE LATER! Hot dog, a fight! I'll go 10-10 because most of the round was empty other than the knockdowns. 10-10

Round 2: Savigne goes down 1:15 into the round! Savigne hurt badly and wobbly, but he'll try to continue. Thomas Williams Jr throwing punches like he's Togi Makabe whiffing on forearms but enough land that he gets the stoppage. Ugly and fun, just how I like my coffee. Thomas Williams Jr TKO-2
