Today at 3:00 pm EST on Sky Sports (UK), a pair of unbeaten super middleweights will square off for the vacant British title at 168 pounds, as Callum Smith takes on Rocky Fielding in the main event from Liverpool's always-lively Echo Arena.
Smith (17-0, 12 KO) is the youngest of the four fighting Smith brothers, and some believe the most talented of the bunch. The 25-year-old, who stands 6'3", will face what should be a career-toughest test against Fielding (21-0, 12 KO), however, even though Smith is considered the clear favorite in this fight. Fielding, a former Prizefighter winner, knocked off the ultra durable Bryan Vera in just two rounds last time out. Smith is coming off of a wide decision win over Christopher Rebrasse.
The British lightweight title will also be on the line, as Scotty Cardle (18-0, 5 KO) defends against Sean Dodd (10-1, 2 KO), and former world titleholder Ricky Burns (38-5-1, 12 KO) looks to move back down to that same division, facing Josh King (20-3, 9 KO) of Australia in a 10-round bout.
BLH will be here with live coverage. Join us this afternoon!
