Angel Garcia talks game plan for Robert Guerrero

Trainer Angel Garcia talks about what he expects to go down when his son takes on Robert Guerrero on this upcoming January.

The fight between Danny Garcia and Robert Guerrero just had it's kickoff presser that was surprisingly devoid of any trash talk. I mean, the powder keg that is Angel Garcia and Ruben Guerrero, together in one promotion, has to invariably explode at some point, right?! In the aftermath of the presser, FightHype catches an interview with Angel to talk about what he sees happening when the two welterweights square off at the top of the year.

When asked about a possible short night for Danny, Angel didn't emphatically predict a knockout for his son, but said that if Robert Guerrero tries to open up with his son and can't handle the pressure, he's going to get clipped and meet the mat. Angel also goes on to say that with Guerrero being a southpaw, fans can expect a lot of right hands and left uppercuts to the body coming from Danny.

Finally, Angel mentions that Danny Garcia is coming into the welterweight division like a tornado to take the division by storm (but he's probably referring to one of those F0 tornadoes that the Fujita scale describes as "some damage to chimneys; branches broken off trees; shallow-rooted trees pushed over; and sign boards damaged" judging from his first two opponents). Anyway, Angel predicts Garcia-Guerrero will be a great fight for fans because he's seen worse, whatever that's supposed to mean, and rates Danny as the number one welterweight in the world. I'm pumped!
