After a series of fizzled plans, Amir Mansour finally has a fight, as the veteran squares off against former Olympian Dominic Breazeale on the undercard of January 23rd's "Danny Garcia vs. Robert Guerrero" PBC card in Los Angeles.
Mansour (22-1-1, 16 KO) was initially slated to take on Artur Szpilka on December 12th until the Pole was called up to replace Vyacheslav Glazkov against Deontay Wilder. He then planned to face Breazeale on the undercard of said Wilder fight, but that fell through.
So, here we are.
Breazeale (16-0, 14 KO) benefited from some bizarre judging in his most recent fight, a decision over Fred Kassi on the Wilder-Duhaupas undercard that most felt Kassi either won or at least deserved a draw. He's at least staying busy, though; this will be his ninth fight in two years.
Mansour, who is thirteen years older than his opponent at 43, wasn't quite as lucky with the judges last time out, as he settled for a draw against Gerald Washington. Two fights prior, he knocked out the aforementioned Kassi in brutal fashion. He'll be giving up six inches of height to Breazeale.
The card will also include a welterweight fight between Aron Martinez and Sammy Vasquez, Jr.
