Kell Brook vs. Kevin Bizier purse bid to take place January 12th, Hearn plans Khan bout

This is assuming that Eddie Hearn and Yvon Michel, their respective promoters, cannot come to an agreement beforehand.

It looks as though IBF Welterweight Champion Kell Brook's next title defense will be against mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier, but the two sides haven't worked out the specifics. The sanctioning body has ordered that purse bid will take place should an agreement not be reached by January 12th.

Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sports promotes Brook, while Yvon Michel promotes Bizier. Should Brook win, Hearn reportedly wishes to make the long-simmering bout between Brook and Amir Khan a reality. He tells BoxingNewsOnline that he plans to stage the fight on June 4th in Wembley.

Knowing the history of this matchup, some trepidation is natural; besides that, Brook's got to get through Bizier.

Bizier (25-2, 17 KO) finally got a breakout win last month by stopping Ghanaian prospect Fredrick Lawson on NBC. He'd previously spent his entire career in Canada, losing only to Jo Jo Dan by split decision. Twice, oddly ennough.

Brook (35-0, 24 KO), meanwhile, demolished Dan in his first defense of the IBF title he took from Shawn Porter last year, then stopped Frankie Gavin in six. He was slated to face Diego Chaves in October before pulling out due to a rib injury.

There were also talks of him facing Timothy Bradley but, well, that's a bit unlikely now.

Bizier's a solid foe and should force Brook to work for it, at the very least. Think they actually put the Khan fight together if Brook gets the win?
