Kovalev vs Pascal: Glazkov looking to show new mean streak against Cunningham

Vyacheslav Glazkov is fighting with something to prove and reasons to impress in Saturday's fight with Steve Cunningham.

Manager Egis Klimas believes that heavyweight contender Vyacheslav "Czar" Glazkov needs to learn to be meaner in the ring, and Saturday night's HBO fight with Steve "USS" Cunningham could be the perfect chance for him to show it.

"I was talking to him about being too nice of a guy in the ring," Klimas explained. "We are trying to put him where he has to be mean in the ring. No matter how good you are when you get in the ring you have to be mean. You have to be aggressive. You have to have a sportsman's anger. That is what we have been working on with Czar in the last few months."

Glazkov (19-0-1, 12 KO) scored a solid win last year over Tomasz Adamek, but Cunningham (28-6, 13 KO) might be a new level for him. Despite being a small heavyweight and 38 years old, Cunningham is still fighting very well, winning his last three after a spirited loss to Tyson Fury in 2013.

There is a chance that with a win, Glazkov, 30, could fight Wladimir Klitschko (or Bryant Jennings) next time out. But he says he's not looking past Cunningham.

"I know I have to face Cunningham on March 14 and this is my priority right now. Right now I am concentrating 100 percent on him and I am ready."
