Floyd Mayweather Sr and Freddie Roach are two of the most respected trainers in boxing, but they're also both competitive guys, and over the years have developed a sort of media rivalry. In the past, Mayweather has been fond of calling him "Freddie 'The Joke Coach' Roach," but he hasn't busted that out yet for the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
He did give some quick comments to Fight Hub TV at yesterday's press event.
On Mayweather-Pacquiao finally coming together
"I'm glad the fight's here. It's about time for the people to get what they've been looking for. It's been a long time coming."
"I've never been scared of Floyd fighting Pacquiao, anyway. It's just a fight that, to me, man, just an opponent to me. That's the way I looked at it."
On Freddie Roach saying Floyd (Jr) is getting old
"Freddie Roach don't know what the hell he's talking about. Freddie Roach was talking about my son, talking about Roger getting in the corner. Hey, he don't want the. master in the corner. That's what it is. He don't want the master in the corner, because you know what the master's gonna do? The master's gonna tell him to do some things that he ain't never seen before."
