In just under two weeks from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Sergey Kovalev will face Jean Pascal with three major light heavyweight titles on the line in one of the biggest fights of the early boxing year.
Kovalev (26-0-1, 23 KO) is coming off of a big win over Bernard Hopkins in November, dominating "The Alien" over 12 rounds, setting the tone early and never losing his grip on the fight. Where many -- including Pascal -- have shrank under the mental pressure of Hopkins in the past, Kovalev physically dominated Hopkins and made the old man look old for once, never giving in to any of Hopkins' head games.
Pascal (29-2-1, 17 KO) last fought on February 6, a truncated two-round bout against Roberto Bolonti, which ended in a no-contest. In January 2014, Pascal scored a big win over Lucian Bute on HBO, and overall he's won three straight following a 2011 loss to Hopkins.
