Thursday, March 12
HBO Latino, 9:45 pm EST, Francisco Vargas vs Will Tomlinson, Vyacheslav Shabranskyy vs Fabiano Pena. This was originally going to be a triple-header, with Orozco-Taylor as the co-feature, but has been reduced to a double-header, as that fight was scrapped a few weeks ago, and a promoted bout featuring Frankie Gomez was also recently canceled. Shabranskyy is worth tuning in to see, though, and the Vargas-Tomlinson main event is well-matched on paper. Certainly a welcome Thursday night card, at the least. BLH will have live coverage.
Friday, March 13
Spike / BoxNation (UK), 9:00 pm EST, Andre Berto vs Josesito Lopez, Shawn Porter vs Roberto Garcia. PBC is back quickly, this time on Spike, which appears set to host the relative third-tier of the series, which isn't bad at all. Berto-Lopez is a great action fight in the making, as neither of them mind a good old-fashioned tear-up, and both have shown a lot of vulnerability along with a ton of toughness. Porter will look to get back on track against Garcia, a second-tier welterweight but a solid fighter for sure, and one that could certainly be a live dog here if Porter's not on his game. BLH will have live coverage.
SHO, 10:00 pm EST, Antoine Douglas vs Thomas Lamanna, Ismael Barroso vs Issouf Kinda, Jerry Odom vs Andrew Hernandez, Adam Lopez vs Pablo Cruz. FOUR fights on ShoBox! FOUR of them! All ShoBox-style fights in the classic sense, with prospects taking tests against decent opposition.
Telemundo, 11:35 pm EST, Jonathan Vidal vs Ricardo Rodriguez, Sergey Lipinets vs Cosme Rivera. I refer to Cosme Rivera as "Mr. Telemundo." In my head, I mean. I have never spoken out loud to anyone about Cosme Rivera in my life.
Saturday, March 14
BoxNation (UK), 3:00 pm EST, Ovill McKenzie vs Matty Askin.
HBO, 9:45 pm EST, Sergey Kovalev vs Jean Pascal, Vyacheslav Glazkov vs Steve Cunningham, Vasily Lepikhin vs Isaac Chilemba. A rare triple-header for HBO, with a great headline fight featuring arguably the best light heavyweight in the world. It's Kovalev or Adonis Stevenson and probably depends entirely on how much weight you give lineal championships. Anyway, this is a must-see fight, as Kovalev is a must-see fighter. I'll NOT be seeing it live, however, as I'm out of town on Saturday night, as it is my birthday and I'm going to party so hard. By which I mean party mildly. Connor will be here for the live call, though, and I'll be recording and avoiding SPOILERS! so that I can watch it as soon as I get in. Little glimpse into my life for you all. BLH will have live results.
UniMas, 11:00 pm EST, Toka Kahn Clary vs Edwin Solis, Egor Mekhontsev vs Yusaf Mack.
Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm EST, Mariana Juarez vs Naoko Fujioka, Julio Ceja vs Oscar Blanquet.
Azteca (MEX), 11:30 pm EST, Yazmin Rivas vs Celina Salazar, Fernando Montiel vs Rogelio Jun Doliguqez, Juan Carlos Sanchez Jr vs Luis Melendez.
