Sylvester Stallone prepares 'Rocky' spin-off

Sly Stone is currently working on 'Creed,' a spin-off from the Rocky series.

Lord knows Sly is too old to be still doing it himself, so he's imparting his knowledge, and boxing story, to a younger generation. 'Creed' is Stallone's new upcoming flick about Adonis Creed, grandson of the deceased Apollo Creed (thanks to the iron fists of Ivan Drago). In the movie, Adnois will be trained by the finally-retired Rocky Balboa as he looks to follow in his grandfather's footsteps by becoming a name in the boxing world.

Actor Michael B. Jordan, who notably starred in Fruitville Station and season one of The Wire (remember Wallace?) will play the main character, Adonis. The film will also feature Tony Bellew as 'Pretty' Ricky Boylan and Andre Ward, who will also be making his big screen debut. I'm not sure if either man will be able to fair much better than Antonio Tarver in the most recent travesty that was Rocky, but I suppose we'll have to defer our judgment to Stallone's creative vision. I do wonder, however, if Chuck Wepner might not be able to snag another paycheck out of this. In any event, the film is expected to hit theaters this November.

P.S. - Stallone is also in the midst of preparing a new installment of Rambo - the golden years. Happy viewing!

Get ready to go for it!
