Friday, April 24
Spike, 9:00 pm EST, Anthony Dirrell vs Badou Jack, Daniel Jacobs vs Caleb Truax. The second PBC on Spike card features a 168-pound title defense from Anthony Dirrell against Mayweather Promotions' Badou Jack, with Daniel Jacobs facing Caleb Truax in the co-feature ("other main event," I assume) in a middleweight fight from Chicago. It's a solid Friday night doubleheader. BLH will have live coverage.
Saturday, April 25
HBO / BoxNation (UK) / RTL (DEU), 10:00 pm EST, Wladimir Klitschko vs Bryant Jennings, Sadam Ali vs Francisco Santana. Klitschko's first fight in the United States since 2008 is nearly here, as the champ returns to Madison Square Garden. Seven years ago, the world was bored to tears watching him poke at an unwilling Sultan Ibragimov, who never fought again. This weekend, he faces Bryant Jennings, a hungry American fighter who started to come onto the scene in early 2012, and last year beat Mike Perez and Artur Szpilka. Is he in Klitschko's league? Probably not, but hey. Ali-Santana is a decent co-feature, and Ali looked terrific last time out stopping Luis Carlos Abregu. BLH will have live coverage.
UniMas, 11:00 pm EST, Felix Verdejo vs Marco Antonio Lopez. Verdejo is the current next Puerto Rican hope, and more than the others, he appears to seriously be the goods. He's also quickly growing a fan base not just at home, but in New York, the way that Miguel Cotto and others have done in the past. This fight is being held in Guaynabo, but he's got an HBO date set on June 13 at MSG, too. He's one of the top prospects in the sport, and worth checking out.
Televisa (MEX), 11:00 pm EST, Dante Jardon vs Jeffrey Arienza, Miguel Roman vs Edgar Puerta.
