Finally, a whopping 10 days out from the fight, tickets for Mayweather-Pacquiao are going on sale today. A limited number of tickets will be made available to the public, but it's going to be tough for anyone to score a seat at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Our own Keith Creed updates us on the situation. "As of 3 pm PST, the tickets for the Mayweather-Pacquiao superfight will be available. The problem extended beyond the allocation of tickets. It was actually the contract with the MGM Grand about to whom and when they will be dispersed. Fortunately for the fans that will be coming in to Las Vegas, the tickets will be on sale.
"However, there will be a lot of comps that will be designated for the international high rollers, the domestic high rollers, the politicians, ambassadors, VIPs, and celebrities, leaving very few tickets for the average, blue collar worker that saved up all their money to fly to Vegas to see the fight.
"If you cannot afford tickets to watch live in the arena, there is the closed circuit option, which will be available at four particular casinos on the strip. I believe it's the Mirage, New York New York, MGM Grand, and the Mandalay Bay. Those will be your options, and those tickets will go on sale later this evening for the closed circuit viewing for $150 a pop."
Tickets are expected to be gone in mere moments, but the secondary market should have some available for premium prices. If you're rolling in disposable cash, you might want to look at StubHub and other outlets as soon as this evening and try to find yourself a seat for the historic event.
