Sick of waiting for the fight to actually happen? Well the good news is that starting tomorrow there will be a new pop-up shop opening in Vegas where you can simulate the fight for yourself. Tomorrow, on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Fremont St, opens a 1,700 square foot pop-up shop specially designed for the May-Pac event. This space is said to offer a one-of-a-kind fan experience with a special interactive game, officially licensed May-Pac merchandise, and VIP meet and greets (your chance to finally meet Buboy!).
The interactive game is a fight simulation where fans can get into the ring as either Floyd or Manny and fight the other as an opponent. There is said to be custom-designed rings resembling both Floyd and Manny's respective training rings, a high-impact punch sensor, and a 10-foot-tall video screen providing a completely immersive experience. The large screen will prompt fans to execute punch combinations that will hopefully take out the opponent, if in fact the user survives long enough to score the knockout blow. So basically it sounds like a mix of Dance Dance Revolution and Fight Night.
Fans who manage to score a KO over the computer-simulated opponent will have their feat captured on a 360-degree camera, and get to take home a loop of their final devastating blow. The pop-up shop will remain open from tomorrow through May 2nd. I'll let you folks decide whether or not this is a cool and fun marketing promotion or just lame.
