Well this isn't the news you want to hear about your trainer. Especially if you're Willie Monroe and preparing to step in the ring with KO monster Gennady Golovkin. After allegedly selling meth to an undercover, Tony Morgan was arrested and charged with trafficking meth over 28 grams, amongst a few other charges.
It's being reported that Morgan agreed to bring ten ounces of meth to a deal, but only had four on him when the undercover snagged him. Morgan has been in the midst of training camp with Willie Monroe Jr, who is just about a month away from his HBO-televised fight against Golovkin, and this couldn't be worse for a fighter on the eve of his biggest career fight.
Monroe's camp has yet to issue a comment of the arrest, with promoter Artie Pellulo stating that Banner Promotions would be issuing a statement shortly. Clearly Monroe and the rest of his team should be looking for a suitable last minute replacement for Morgan, who may not be available to stand in the corner.
