Golovkin vs Monroe: Full fight video highlights

Gennady Golovkin put away another challenger with an impressive performance at The Forum.

Scott Christ is the managing editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2006.

Gennady Golovkin is a human highlight reel, and tonight's win over Willie Monroe Jr was no different. Starting with some good boxing in round one, Golovkin (33-0, 30 KO) turned up the heat in the second round, smashing Monroe (19-2, 6 KO) with a wicked left hook that put the American on the canvas, and then dropping him once again with a little over a minute left in the round.

Credit where it's due, Monroe fought hard from there, and made it into the sixth round before he was down for a third time, at which point he told referee Jack Reiss, "I'm done," essentially submitting to Golovkin's thunderous power and furious offensive charges, of which he'd stood up to plenty by that point.

This highlight video is also important because it gives us the chance to make this GIF of Golovkin, victorious in front of an adoring crowd in his new home city, each of us with a ticket to the gun show.
