Ivan Redkach will face Dejan Zlaticanin in a WBC lightweight eliminator on June 13, airing as part of Showtime's next card from Alabama, which features the return of Deontay Wilder against Eric Molina in the main event.
Redkach (18-0, 14 KO) has made his rise with fights on ShoBox and ESPN Friday Night Fights, where he's become a regular and a standout, showcasing good skills against guys like Tony Luis, Sergey Gulyakevich, and Yakubu Amidu. The 29-year-old Ukrainian southpaw is more familiar to American viewers than Zlaticanin (20-0, 13 KO), but Zlaticanin's win over Ricky Burns in June 2014 may be the most impressive win between the two fighters.
Zlaticanin, 31, is also a southpaw, fighting out of Montenegro, and signed with Al Haymon in March, looking to get his career on track. The win over Burns was followed by a return home for a victory lap win over a club fighter. He's been inactive since October.
The WBC lightweight belt is currently held by Jorge Linares, who will face Kevin Mitchell on May 30 in the United Kingdom.
