Erislandy Lara will face Delvin Rodriguez in a 12-round junior middleweight main event on June 12 from the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. Lara-Rodriguez will be a PBC on Spike main event. Warriors Boxing, which will serve as the official promoter for the event, confirmed the rumored bout yesterday.

Lara (20-2-2, 12 KO) will be defending his WBA "world" title against Rodriguez (28-7-4, 16 KO), who hasn't won a fight since beating Freddy Hernandez in May 2013. He lost to Miguel Cotto in October of that year, and drew with faded Joachim Alcine in May 2014. Overall, the 35-year-old Rodriguez is 3-3-2 in his last eight bouts dating back to 2010. He is probably best known for his epic war with Pawel Wolak in July 2011 on ESPN Friday Night Fights, which was widely recognized as the Fight of the Year.

Lara, 32, was last seen in December, beating Ishe Smith by wide 12-round decision, five months after a narrow loss to Canelo Alvarez. In all candor, the Lara-Rodriguez matchup isn't much better than the next night's Deontay Wilder-Eric Molina fight on Showtime, both Al Haymon products.

Heavyweight Artur Szpilka (18-1, 13 KO) will also be in action. He's become a Chicago favorite after a pair of wins over Mike Mollo in 2013, and his last fight -- a win over Ty Cobb on April 24 -- was also held at the UIC Pavilion.
